The 8-track tape cartridge recording format pictured here had a life span from the mid-1960s to the early 1980s, ultimately being eclipsed by the far less clunky and compact cassette tape.  We believe that this particular 8-track tape was also released on LP, but are uncertain as we have not obtained a copy.
