Cy
Walter's Recordings
Cy's career covered several permutations of
record technology, spanning as it did from the mid‑thirties through
the late sixties. Included below are copies of the various Cy Walter
commercially-released records, in either their 78‑rpm or 33‑rpm
(10" or 12") versions (and sometimes in both). Also separately included in the "Radio Discs" pages of this site are scans of the labels of some of the rare 16" transcription discs the Walter family has obtained, either as part of Cy's own collection or through the generosity of friends from their private collections
Beyond
piano solos and/or duo piano recorded by Cy, there were, of course,
many talented singers whom he accompanied (sometimes with other pianists
as well). We include here copies of these record albums also. Finally,
you will also find here what might be called "composite" recordings,
where Cy's music is placed alongside that of other performers' in a
theme record. |
