This was originally meant for superstar Marilyn Miller in a musical called “Ming Toy” that never was produced. In “Girl Crazy,” it is sung by Ginger Rogers and Allen Kearns in a staging by Fred Astaire. It is sung by Gene Kelley in “An American in Paris” (1951) and by Jane Froman dubbing for Susan Hayward in “With a Song in My Heart” (1952).
