EVENT: Some wonderful musicians are soon to be performing in that unique and delightful venue, Bargemusic. Since 1977, Bargemusic has
presented chamber music in an unlikely and startlingly beautiful venue --
a floating barge at the foot of the Brooklyn Bridge. Both established

In celebration of his 10th year as a solo performer, barry lloyd (san francisco's crown prince of cabaret) is delighted to present a collection of his favorite songs from past shows, as well as a handful of songs he has never performed before an audience.
Spanning 65 years of the great american songbook, mr. Lloyd balances songs which have not been revived since their original performances against a generous helping of perennial favorites. His talent for finding rarely performed songs through careful research and making them his own not only delights, but enlightens.

Barry Lloyd, a San Francisco-based pianist and cabaret performer, has performed Cy Walter's "Some Fine Day" at the Bay area Jazz At Pearl's, and will be appearing on Friday and Saturday, 2 and 3 May 2008 (each show being at 7:30 P.M.) at The Metropolitan Room, 34 West 22nd Street, New York, New York (212-206-0440). Monikered the "Crown Prince of Cabaret", Mr. Lloyd will be presenting a collection of his favorite songs from past shows, including his recently-performed "Not A Moment Too Soon! Toscanini Legacy since 1988, presents rare and unique audio selections from the collection, housed in the Library’s Rodgers & Hammerstein Archives of Recorded Sound.

This program will highlight rehearsals, broadcast and non-broadcast concerts from the incomparable Toscanini Legacy Collection, digitally restored for this presentation.
Saturday, January 20, 2007 at 3:00 p.m.
This program will focus on Toscanini’s last concert (April 4, 1954) as well as the memorial broadcast presented the day after his death.
These programs are presented in commemoration of the 50th anniversary of the death of Arturo Toscanini (1867-1957). A related exhibition will open in the Library’s Astor Gallery on February 21, 2007.

EVENT: There will be an event held by the New York Sheet Music Society honoring the great hotel and lounge pianists of the past (including of course, Cy Walter), who brought sophistication and a personal touch to the music performed in New York City cafe society. Held at the Musicians' Hall, 322 West 48th Street, New York, New York, on Saturday, 13 January 2007 at 1:30 P.M., the event will feature current performers, including Kathleen Landis and Nancy Winston (of the Pierre), Steve Ross, Peter Mintun, Ronny Whyte, John Wallowitch, and, schedule permitting, Irving Fields. The public is welcome; there is a nominal charge of $10 for non-members.
EVENT: Richard Glazier, pianist and master storyteller, will perform a program dedicated to "The American Popular Song" on Thursday, January 11, at 11am on WGBH 89.7 FM, "Classics in the Morning" with host Cathy Fuller. Starting when Ragtime was king, and continuing through the decades that follow, Glazier visits Tin Pan Alley, Broadway and Hollywood playing the music of Gershwin, Rodgers, Kern and other Golden Era composers. Richard will be playing Cy's arrangements of "Isn't it Romantic" and "Body and Soul".
